Los van elkaar maakten zowel violist Dmitri Makhtin als cellist Kyril Zlotnikov al indruk in de Stadsgehoorzaal. Nu slaan deze twee muzikale natuurkrachten de handen ineen in strijktrio’s van Mozart, Schubert en Beethoven. Daarvoor nemen ze altviolist Miguel da Silva mee, een van de oprichters van het Ysaÿe Kwartet.
Klassieke strijktrio’s
Strijktrio’s werden aan het eind van de 18e eeuw vooral gecomponeerd voor huiselijk gebruik. Amateurmuziek dus. Dat Mozart, Schubert en Beethoven zulke hemelse muziek componeerden voor drie strijkers, mag dan ook een klein wonder heten. Dmitri Makhtin, Kyril Zlotnikov en Miguel da Silva kozen de drie mooiste uit.

Separately, both violinist Dmitri Makhtin and cellist Kyril Zlotnikov have already performed at the Stadsgehoorzaal with great success. Now these two musical forces of nature join forces in string trios by Mozart, Schubert and Beethoven. To do so, they invited viola player Miguel da Silva, one of the founding members of the Ysaÿe Quartet.
Classical string trios
String trios were mainly composed for domestic use in the late 18th century. In other words: it was meant to be played by amateur musicians. Therefore, it is nothing short of a miracle that famous and succesful composers such as Mozart, Schubert and Beethoven composed such heavenly music for three strings players. For this concert, Dmitri Makhtin, Kyril Zlotnikov and Miguel da Silva have selected the three most beautiful trios by these great composers.
