In de nieuwe theatershow van Michelle David & The True-Tones wordt je meegenomen op een muzikale ontdekkingstocht vanuit verschillende invloeden. Ze hebben het verlangen om mensen de ware boodschap van muziek te brengen namelijk; liefde, eenheid en samenhang.
Dat reizen ontzettend veel inspiratie kan opleveren blijkt wel uit de muziek van Michelle David & The True-Tones. De Amerikaanse zangeres Michelle David is samen met haar band op vele plekken geweest. Tijdens hun zoektocht in de wereld van hun geliefde genres Rhythm & Blues en Rock ’n Roll stuitte de band op Gospel originals als Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Eenmaal aangekomen bij de roots van de Gospel besloot de band verder te gaan en hun vele reizen brachten hen in aanraking met diverse muziekstijlen zoals: Jazz, Blues, Afrobeat, Northern Soul en Calypso.
Ik schrijf met het publiek in gedachten. Ik ben niet bang om me net zo kwetsbaar op te stellen als de muziek die ik met mijn publiek deel.
Ze stonden voorheen bekend als Michelle David & The Gospel Sessions, maar gaan verder als Michelle David & The True-tones. De afgelopen jaren resulteerde in zes goed ontvangen albums, uitverkochte tours in binnen- en buitenland en een Edison-nominatie.
Het album Truth & Soul van Michelle David & The True-tones is dit jaar verkozen als één van de albums van het jaar bij BBC RADIO 6 MUSIC.

The fact that traveling can provide a lot of inspiration is apparent from the music of Michelle David & The True-Tones. The American singer Michelle David has been to many places with her band. During their worldwide search of their beloved genres Rhythm & Blues and Rock ’n Roll, the band came across Gospel originals like Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Once they arrived at the roots of the Gospel, the band decided to move on and their many travels introduced them to various music styles such as: Jazz, Blues, Afrobeat, Northern Soul and Calypso.
Formerly known as Michelle David & The Gospel Sessions, they continue as Michelle David & The True-tones. The past few years resulted in six well-received albums, sold-out tours domestically and internationally and an Edison nomination.
