Amsterdam Sinfonietta & The Tallest Man on Earth

De Zweedse singer-songwriter Kristian Matsson, beter bekend als The Tallest Man on Earth, is de volgende artiest in Sinfonietta’s lange nieuwjaarstraditie. The Tallest Man on Earth heeft het talent een zaal muisstil te krijgen alleen al met zijn grofkorrelige stem en een gitaar. Op een avond bespeelt hij tot wel tien gitaren, van akoestisch tot banjo. Samen met hem brengt Amsterdam Sinfonietta een programma met Zweedse folklore, klassieke Scandinavische componisten, een selectie uit de zangers eigen groeiende repertoire wonderschone nummers, en covers van o.a. Bob Dylan en Sting. Speciale gast is het New Yorkse strijkkwartet Brooklyn Rider, met hun onstilbare honger naar avontuur. ‘Frontman’ Colin Jacobsen voert Amsterdam Sinfonietta aan.

Swedish singer-songwriter Kristian Matsson, better known as The Tallest Man on Earth, is the next artist in Sinfonietta’s long New Year’s tradition. The Tallest Man on Earth has a talent for hushing up an audience just with his gritty voaice and a guitar. In a single evening he plays up to ten guitars, from acoustic to banjo. Together with him, Amsterdam Sinfonietta will present a program of Swedish folklore, classic Scandinavian composers, a selection from the vocalist’s own growing repertoire of wonderful songs, and covers by the likes of Bob Dylan and Sting. Additional special guest is the New York-based string quartet Brooklyn Rider, with their unquenchable appetite for adventure. ‘Frontman’ Colin Jacobsen will be directing Amsterdam Sinfonietta.
