De Nederlands-Iraanse sopraan Lilian Farahani en pianist Maurice Lammerts van Bueren Frans brengen een ode aan de eeuwige reiziger met repertoire van Dvořak en Ravel, Perzische volksliederen van Reza Vali en Argentijnse pareltjes. Dit concert is tevens de feestelijke release van hun gelijknamige nieuwe album.

De Nederlands-Iraanse sopraan Lilian Farahani is de wereld aan het veroveren: dit seizoen debuteert ze bij de Royal Opera House in Londen in een moderne opera van Kaija Saariaho, ze soleerde afgelopen najaar met het Concertgebouw Orkest en bij De Nationale Opera zong ze recent Zerlina in Mozarts Don Giovanni. Ze voelt zich net zo thuis in opera, operette, muziektheater, klassiek Lied-repertoire en moderne muziek. Maar bovenal is zij een fenomenale zangeres ‘met glinsterende brille’ (Trouw), over wie Opera News lyrisch verklaarde: ‘Farahani is a marvel. Her opulent soprano offers abundant color and personality, as well as unparalleled diction that never sounds forced or compromises her tone.’

Reizen, wie houdt er niet van? Maar we komen toch ook graag weer thuis. Nomaden zijn overal thuis. Of nergens. De romantiek van de reiziger, de dolende, de zoeker is universeel. Lilian Farahani en haar pianist Maurice Lammerts van Bueren nemen u mee op een muzikale reis naar Frankrijk, Spanje en Perzië. Een reis door tijd en plaats met liederen van Ravel, Bizet, Dvořak, Vali, Weill, Piazzola en Ramirez. Een exotische nomadentocht vol passie en romantiek.
