Voordat Vincent Van Gogh koos voor een leven als kunstenaar had hij allerlei beroepen. Pas op zijn 27ste vond hij zijn passie. In Van Gogh’s Way To Go volgen we Vincent op de weg waarlangs zijn hartstocht voor kunst hem voerde, tegen alle conventies in.
Calefax brengt Van Gogh muzikaal en theatraal tot leven. We zoomen in tot op de kleinste details van zijn werk en maken met muziek de onderliggende emoties voelbaar. Met werken van o.a. George Bizet, Hector Berlioz, Martin Padding en Robert Schumann reizen we met Vincent mee.
Van Gogh’s Way to Go is een voorstelling van rietkwintet Calefax in samenwerking met Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ en Van Gogh Museum.

A visual, musical journey about following your heart
Before Vincent Van Gogh chose a life as an artist, he had all kinds of professions. It wasn’t until he was 27 that he found his passion. In Van Gogh’s Way To Go, we follow Vincent on the road along which his passion for art took him, against all traditions.
Calefax brings Van Gogh to life musically and theatrically. We look at the smallest details of his work and use music to make the underlying emotions tangible. We travel alongside Vincent through works by George Bizet, Hector Berlioz, Martin Padding and Robert Schumann , among others.
Van Gogh’s Way to Go is a performance by reed quintet Calefax in collaboration with Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and the Van Gogh Museum.
