Een uurtje klassiek op zaterdagmiddag door studenten van de Nederlandse conservatoria of de Nederlandse Strijkkwartet Academie. De bar is open en je mag je eigen hapjes meenemen, vers van de markt. Inclusief presentator die het publiek meeneemt in de verhalen achter de muziek!
Evolution
Het Aires Tropicales Quintet neemt het publiek mee op een muzikale reis door de tijd. In Evolution horen we hoe het blazerskwintet zich ontwikkelt van de verfijnde elegantie van de klassieke periode tot de ritmische vrijheid en expressieve energie van hedendaagse en Afro-Caribische invloeden. Met virtuositeit, subtiele theatraliteit en een vleugje humor laat het ensemble zien hoe traditie en vernieuwing elkaar versterken.
Het Cubaans-Nederlandse Aires Tropicales Quintet verbindt de Europese klassieke traditie met de ritmes van Cuba, Afrika, Spanje en het Amerikaanse continent. Sinds de oprichting in 2021 staat het ensemble bekend om energieke uitvoeringen uit het hoofd, waarin improvisatie en samenspel centraal staan. Het werkte samen met Netflix en Vogue en was te zien in onder meer Podium Klassiek en Mindvalley.

An hour of classical music on Saturday afternoon performed by students from Dutch conservatories or the Dutch String Quartet Academy. The bar is open and you can bring your own snacks, fresh from the market. Includes a presenter who takes the audience on a journey through the stories behind the music!
Evolution
The Aires Tropicales Quintet takes audiences on a musical journey through time. In Evolution, we hear how the wind quintet evolves from the refined elegance of the Classical period to the rhythmic freedom and expressive energy of contemporary and Afro-Caribbean influences. With virtuosity, subtle theatricality and a touch of humour, the ensemble shows how tradition and innovation reinforce one another.
The Cuban-Dutch Aires Tropicales Quintet brings together the European classical tradition and the vibrant rhythms of Cuba, Africa, Spain and the Americas. Founded in 2021, the ensemble is known for its energetic performances from memory, combining improvisation with close musical interplay. It has collaborated with Netflix and Vogue and has appeared on programmes and productions including Podium Klassiek and Mindvalley.
