In Atmen verwelkomt Nicole Beutler je in een onontdekt stukje toekomst; het is het jaar 2200. Je bent welkom in een pulserend, vibrerend en ademend paradijs waarin de natuur haar plek heroverd heeft. Het rode pluche in de theaterzaal maakt nu deel uit van een levend ecosysteem. De ruïne van wat ooit de schouwburg was, is overwoekerd door bacteriën, flora, fauna en glimmende schimmels. Samen met hybride wezens wordt het publiek onderdeel van dit ecosysteem, waarin de vier zangers van de bekroonde dansopera 8: METAMORPHOSIS romantische natuurliederen zingen.
De tweede deel van de bijzondere trilogie: RITUALS OF TRANSFORMATION (towards a new humanity) is een immersieve theaterervaring. We reizen door een experiment, een speculatieve fictie.
In het eerste deel van de trilogie: GINKGO or: 56 million years ago there were palm trees on the North Pole, keken we naar het einde van de door mensen gemaakte wereld, als naar een film zonder happy end. In Atmen laten Beutler en haar team het publiek weer op adem komen met een ruimte vol leven, potentie en verandering. In het laatste deel van de trilogie zal er een nieuwe balans gevonden worden.

In Atmen, Nicole Beutler welcomes you to an undiscovered piece of the future; it is the year 2200. You are welcomed to a pulsating, vibrating and breathing paradise in which nature has reclaimed its place. The red plush in the theatre auditorium is now part of a living ecosystem. The ruin of what was once the theatre has been overgrown by bacteria, flora, fauna and shiny fungi. Together with hybrid creatures, the audience becomes part of this ecosystem, in which the four singers of the award-winning dance opera 8: METAMORPHOSIS sing romantic songs of nature.
The second part of the extraordinary trilogy: RITUALS OF TRANSFORMATION (towards a new humanity) is an immersive theatrical experience. We travel through an experiment, a speculative fiction.
In the first part of the trilogy: GINKGO or: 56 million years ago there were palm trees on the North Pole, we watched the end of the man-made world, like a film without a happy ending. In Atmen, Beutler and her team let the audience catch their breath again with a space full of life, potential and change. In the final part of the trilogy, a new balance will be found.
