Het legendarische fenomeen van het Edinburgh Fringe Festival komt eindelijk terug naar Nederland! Deze baanbrekende Britse theatervoorstelling combineert de wereld van de Noorse mythologie met professioneel worstelen. The Telegraph omschreef dit als ‘de perfecte manier om dit verhaal te vertellen’. Shakespeareaanse dramatiek wordt gecombineerd met rauwe, fysieke gevechten, uitgevoerd door acteurs die professioneel worstelen.
In Mythos: Ragnarök volgen we Loki, Thor en Freyja in een humorvolle, energieke en verrassend ontroerende hervertelling van de bekende Noorse sagen. De goden komen voor een allesbeslissende keuze te staan: samenwerken aan een nieuwe wereld, of ten onder gaan in de apocalyptische strijd van Ragnarök. De makers combineren de dramatische zeggingskracht van William Shakespeare met de rauwe spanning van live gevechten, uitgevoerd door een unieke cast van acteurs die zijn getraind in professioneel worstelen.
Het resultaat is een avond vol spectaculaire actie, indrukwekkende handgemaakte kostuums en een meeslepende originele soundtrack van componist Kjell Braaten, bekend van Wardruna en Vikings: Valhalla. Na elke voorstelling is er een Meet & Greet met cast en crew.
De show is volledig onafhankelijk geschreven, geregisseerd en geproduceerd door hoofdrolspeler Ed Gamester en speelde al meer dan 300 keer wereldwijd. Durf je dichtbij te komen? In Mythos: Ragnarök, Loki, Thor and Freyja take centre stage in a humorous, energetic and surprisingly moving retelling of the famous Norse myths. The gods are faced with a decisive choice: work together to build a new world, or fall in the apocalyptic battle of Ragnarök. The creators combine the dramatic power of William Shakespeare with the raw intensity of live combat, performed by a unique cast of actors trained in professional wrestling.
The result is an evening filled with spectacular action, stunning handmade costumes and an immersive original soundtrack by composer Kjell Braaten, known for Wardruna and Vikings: Valhalla. After every performance there will be a Meet & Greet with the cast and crew.
