Het Londense Linos Piano Trio speelt niet alleen het ‘ijzeren pianotrio-repertoire’, maar eigent zich ook noten toe die niet voor hun bezetting geschreven zijn. Onder de noemer ‘Stolen Music’ werken de drie leden van het trio samen aan het hertalen van iconische orkestwerken alsof ze oorspronkelijk voor pianotrio zijn geschreven. Daarmee gaan ze een stap verder dan gebruikelijk bij bewerkingen. Dat doen ze voor dit concert met Tsjaikovski’s Notenkrakersuite en Dukas’ Tovenaarsleerling. Daarnaast spelen ze het Pianotrio in d van Fanny Mendelssohn, het briljante zusje van Felix Mendelssohn.

Linos Piano Trio

The Linos Piano Trio from London not only plays the standard repertoire of piano trio, but also appropriates notes not written for their instrumentation. Under the title ‘Stolen Music’, the three members of the trio work together to retranslate iconic orchestral works as if they were originally written for piano trio. In doing so, they go a step further than common arrangement practices. They do so for this concert with Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and Dukas’ Sorcerer’s Apprentice. In addition, they will play the Piano Trio in D minor by Fanny Mendelssohn, the brilliant sister of Felix Mendelssohn.
