Chaos String Quartet
Het Chaos Quartet combineert zeer verfijnd ensemblespel met een vurige vitaliteit en een passie voor het verkennen van experimentele en improvisatiebenaderingen. Zij omarmen onvoorspelbaarheid en het nemen van risico’s – vandaar de naam van het kwartet.
Het ensemble won talloze prijzen en werd recent verkozen tot BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist 2023-2025. De vier musici komen uit Hongarije, Duitsland, Italië en Nederland, zij brengen elk een unieke dynamiek en levendigheid in hun spel mee, waardoor een heel universum aan klanken ontstaat.
Haydn, Mozart en Beethoven
Haydn, Mozart en Beethoven hebben samen het strijkkwartet gemaakt tot wat het nu is: het neusje van de zalm van de klassieke muziek. Haydn was de vader van het strijkkwartet, Mozart perfectioneerde en emancipeerde het – hij gaf elke strijker een gelijkwaardige stem – en Beethoven innoveerde en liet zo zien wat het genre allemaal te bieden heeft. Het Chaos String Quartet geeft een prachtige staalkaart van deze ‘heilige drie-eenheid’ van het strijkkwartet. Dat wordt genieten!

Chaos String Quartet
The Chaos Quartet combines highly refined ensemble playing with a fiery vitality and a passion for exploring experimental and improvisational approaches. They embrace unpredictability and risk-taking – hence the quartet’s name.
The ensemble has won numerous awards and was recently named BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist 2023-2025. Coming from Hungary, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, the four musicians each bring unique dynamics and vibrancy to their playing, creating a whole universe of sounds.

Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven together made the string quartet what it is today: the cream of the crop of classical music. Haydn was the father of the string quartet, Mozart perfected and emancipated it – he gave each string player an equal voice – and Beethoven innovated it, showing what the genre has to offer. The Chaos String Quartet provides a wonderful sampling of this ‘holy trinity’ of the string quartet. This is going to be a treat!
