Harvest: ode aan de doorgewinterde zanger
In het theatrale concert Harvest krijgen doorgewinterde zangers nieuwe rollen en perspectieven. Het laat zien dat doorleefde en rijpere stemmen dragende rollen verdienen – met meer diepgang dan de rollen die het traditionele operarepertoire hen doorgaans te bieden heeft. Componisten Calliope Tsoupaki, Yumi Augustine, Prach Boondiskulchok en Rob Zuidam schreven korte monodrama’s in dialoog en nauwe samenwerking met zangers Helena Rasker en Marcel Beekman. Deze stukken bieden nieuwe verhalen en gelaagde personages voor doorgewinterde zangers, barstend van levenservaring, kracht en charisma.
Harvest is méér dan een concert met monodrama’s waarin ervaren stemmen centraal staan; het is ook een project dat componisten de kans geeft om interessante nieuwe rollen te creëren, op het lijf geschreven van ervaren persoonlijkheden. En een kans voor gevierde zangers om na een lange, succesvolle carrière passend repertoire te oogsten. De monodrama’s worden van context voorzien door filmbeelden en interviews.

Harvest: Ode to the Seasoned Singer
In the theatrical concert Harvest, seasoned singers are given new roles and perspectives. It demonstrates that mature and experienced voices deserve powerful roles—with more depth than those typically offered by the traditional opera repertoire. Composers Calliope Tsoupaki, Yumi Augustine, Prach Boondiskulchok, and Rob Zuidam wrote short monodramas in dialogue and close collaboration with singers Helena Rasker and Marcel Beekman. These pieces offer new stories and multi-layered characters for seasoned singers, brimming with life experience, strength, and charisma.
Harvest is more than a concert featuring monodramas featuring experienced voices; it’s also a project that gives composers the opportunity to create interesting new roles, tailor-made for experienced personalities. It’s also a chance for celebrated singers to harvest fitting repertoire after a long, successful career. The monodramas are contextualized by film footage and interviews.
