Laat je meevoeren met Aqua, het bruisende nieuwe programma van Introdans. Met Introdans-premières van de koningin van het minimalisme Lucinda Childs (Océana), hypnotiserende dansmeester Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (Harbor Me) en de nieuw bij Introdans aangetrokken Manuel Vignoulle (EARTH). Ook is de publieksfavoriet Azul te zien van de uit eigen gelederen voortgekomen Jorge Pérez Martínez.

Anker me, bescherm me. In Harbor Me van Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui zijn drie dansers op zoek naar een veilige haven. Kunnen ze elkaar de steun bieden die ze zo hard zoeken? En zo ja, laten ze dit toe? Het toneelbeeld doet denken aan een zeehaven tijdens eb, met de drie dansers dansend in het slib. Vol weemoed en gemiste samensmeltingen. Een nieuw pareltje voor in de Introdans-schatkist.
Azul / Choreografie Jorge Pérez Martínez
Met Azul creëerde choreograaf en voormalig Introdans-danser Jorge Pérez Martínez een fris en pittig werk dat uitblinkt door een eigen lichaamstaal en prachtig, bijzonder partnerwerk, gedanst op drie klassieke Spaanse gitaarcomposities. Pérez Martínez laat zich leiden door de sfeer van de muziek en het mediterrane, Spaanse gevoel. Speciaal voor Aqua voegt Pérez Martínez een deel toe aan het bestaande ballet. Enerzijds vrolijk en uitbundig, maar toch ook altijd met een zekere melancholie.
EARTH / Choreografie Manuel Vignoulle
Zonder aarde is er geen water en andersom. Vanaf het allereerste begin zijn de drie dansers in EARTH van Manuel Vignoulle bijna continu met elkaar verbonden. Het is een verwijzing naar de connectie die we allemaal met elkaar delen. Vignoulle ziet de voorstelling als een eerbetoon aan de aarde, prachtig ondersteund door de haast meditatieve muziek. De patronen op de strakke kostuums doen denken aan tribal body art.
Océana / Choreografie Lucinda Childs
In Océana lijken de dansers te dansen onder de zee, mede door een gigantische videoprojectie van deinend water op de achtergrond. Terwijl een Argentijns koor ons zachtjes in de oren fluistert, trippelen de dansers over het toneel in de kenmerkende rustgevende, repetitieve dansstijl van choreograaf Lucinda Childs. Speciaal voor Introdans maakt deze ‘koningin van het minimalisme’ een versie met extra veel dansers. ‘Het golft en het danst en het is Lucinda. Het is zo meditatief, ik kan er wel uren naar kijken,’ aldus Roel Voorintholt, artistiek directeur Introdans.

Anchor me, protect me. In Harbor Me by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, three dancers are looking for a safe haven. Can they offer each other the support they so desperately seek? And if so, can they accept it? The scene is reminiscent of a seaport at low tide, with the three dancers dancing in the sludge. Full of melancholy and missed fusions. A new gem for the Introdans treasure chest.
Azul / Choreography Jorge Pérez Martínez
With Azul, choreographer and former Introdans dancer Jorge Pérez Martínez has created a fresh and spirited work that excels through its unique body language and beautiful, special partner work, danced to the sound of three classical Spanish guitar compositions. Pérez Martínez is led by the atmosphere of the music and by the Mediterranean, Spanish feeling. Specifically for Aqua, Pérez Martínez has added a part to the existing ballet. On the one hand cheerful and exuberant, on the other filled with a certain melancholy.
EARTH / Choreography Manuel Vignoulle
Without earth there is no water and vice versa. From the very beginning, the three dancers in Manuel Vignoulle’s EARTH are almost uninterruptedly connected. It is a reference to the connection we all share with each other. Vignoulle sees the performance as a tribute to the earth, supported by seemingly meditative music. The patterns on the tight-fitting suits are reminiscent of tribal body art.
Océana / Choreography Lucinda Childs
In Océana the dancers seem to be dancing under the sea, partly due to a gigantic video projection of surging water in the background. While an Argentinian choir whispers softly in our ears, the dancers trip over the stage in choreographer Lucinda Childs’ soothing, repetitive dance style. The ‘queen of minimalism’ has created a version with extra dancers especially for Introdans. ‘It waves and it dances and it’s Lucinda. It is very meditative, I can watch it for hours,’ says Roel Voorintholt, artistic director of Introdans.
