Canto Ostinato: minimal music hit
Pianiste Helena Basilova presenteert een gedurfde nieuwe versie van Simeon ten Holts iconische meesterwerk Canto Ostinato. Zij werkte hierbij samen met componist Aart Strootman en combineert solo piano met diepe elektronische texturen die de intensiteit en emotionele kracht van het stuk versterken. Ten Holt componeerde Canto Ostinato als een open structuur, waarin herhaling, tijd en ruimte in elkaar overvloeien. Hij beschreef het zelf niet als een concert, maar als een ritueel. De luisteraar is niet slechts een toeschouwer, maar een deelnemer aan een muzikale ervaring die zich langzaam ontvouwt. Basilova speelde haar unieke versie eerder op ADE – en deze avond in HEAR\\HERE.

Canto Ostinato – minimal music hit
Pianist Helena Basilova presents a bold new version of Simeon ten Holt’s iconic masterpiece Canto Ostinato. Collaborating with composer Aart Strootman, she combines solo piano with deep electronic textures that enhance the intensity and emotional power of the piece. Ten Holt composed Canto Ostinato as an open structure in which repetition, time, and space flow into one another. He himself described it not as a concert, but as a ritual. The listener is not merely a spectator, but a participant in a musical experience that slowly unfolds. Basilova previously performed her unique version at ADE – and tonight at HEAR\\HERE.
