HEAR\\HERE: music for a new generation
HEAR\\HERE: speciaal geselecteerde concerten, inclusief afterparty! Van klassieke muziek en jazz tot wereldmuziek of cross-over: laat je in een uurtje meenemen in een verrassend concert in de intieme Aalmarktzaal. Je drankje mag mee de zaal in en je dompelt je onder in een nieuwe muzikale ervaring, waarbij je dicht op de muziek en de muzikanten zit. Na afloop is de bar geopend, staat de DJ klaar en kan je met de voetjes van de vloer in Café Caat, het theatercafé van de Stadsgehoorzaal. Of je nu met je partner of je vrienden komt (of jezelf meeneemt op solodate!): HEAR\\HERE staat garant voor een relaxt avondje cultuur en uitgaan, waarbij je nieuwe muziekgenres en acts ontdekt.
Kafka’s roman in film en live muziek
Wat doet het met je, als je niet geaccepteerd wordt zoals je bent? Metamorphosis, A Virtual Opera is een unieke bewerking van Kafka’s novelle over actuele thema’s zoals de zoektocht naar je identiteit, sociale isolatie en de strijd om geaccepteerd te worden. Het Portugees-Nederlandse Maat Saxophone Quartet speelt de loeispannende muziek van componist Nuno Lobo, waarbij de muziek een dialoog vormt met hun alterego’s in een animatiefilm op groot scherm.
Maat Saxophone Quartet
Het Maat Saxophone Quartet (Maat) speelt grensverleggende muziek en vertelt verhalen die raken. De vier saxofonisten denken, spelen en kleuren buiten de lijntjes van het klassieke saxofoonkwartet. Met vernieuwende programma’s waarin muziek samensmelt met andere kunstvormen, geven ze ruimte aan urgente thema’s. Het jonge kwartet is de winnaar van de meest prestigieuze klassieke muziekcompetitie in Portugal, “Prémio Jovens Músicos” (2018) en van de Dutch Classical Talent Award (2022). Maat is in seizoen 2025/2026 door de European Concert Hall Organisation genomineerd als ECHO Rising Star. In dit seizoen geven ze daardoor concerten in de belangrijkste concertzalen van Europa. Binnen Nederland werkten ze samen met onder andere AYA Danstheater, Oorkaan en Theater na de Dam.

Kafka’s novel in film and live music
What does it do to you when you are not accepted for who you are? Metamorphosis, A Virtual Opera is a unique adaptation of Franz Kafka’s novella addressing contemporary themes such as the search for identity, social isolation, and the struggle to be accepted. The Portuguese-Dutch Maat Saxophone Quartet performs the gripping music by composer Nuno Lobo, where the music forms a dialogue with their alter egos in a big-screen animated film.
Maat Saxophone Quartet
The Maat Saxophone Quartet (Maat) plays groundbreaking music and tells stories that move. The four saxophonists think, play, and color outside the lines of the classical saxophone quartet. With innovative programs in which music merges with other art forms, they give space to urgent themes. The young quartet is the winner of the most prestigious classical music competition in Portugal, “Prémio Jovens Músicos” (2018), and of the Dutch Classical Talent Award (2022). Maat has been nominated as an ECHO Rising Star by the European Concert Hall Organisation for the 2025/2026 season. As a result, they are giving concerts in Europe’s most important concert halls this season. Within the Netherlands, they have collaborated with AYA Danstheater, Oorkaan, and Theater na de Dam, among others.
