De Muziekfabriek
De vijf mannen van Calefax werken in een fabriek waar heel speciale verrekijkers worden gemaakt. Ze doen elke dag hetzelfde werk en dat bevalt ze prima. Hun handelingen zijn zó goed op elkaar afgestemd en klinken zo goed, dat het lijkt alsof ze muziek maken. Maar als er op een dag iets misgaat, is er paniek. Totdat de mannen ontdekken dat ze van buizen de mooiste muziekinstrumenten kunnen maken. De Muziekfabriek is geboren!
Een humoristische muziekvoorstelling zonder woorden
Al jaren speelt rietkwintet Calefax met veel succes De Muziekfabriek, de humoristische familievoorstelling zonder woorden. Het is een vrolijke voorstelling rond de muziek van beroemde klassieke componisten als Bach, Debussy en Prokofjev. Over hoe je muziek kan maken uit herhaling en alledaagse voorwerpen om je heen.

Calefax
In 1985 vonden vijf scholieren een nieuw muziekgenre uit: het rietkwintet. Een baanbrekende combinatie van hobo, klarinet, saxofoon, basklarinet en fagot. Als Calefax zetten ze de toon en veroverden ze de wereld. Ruim 70 rietkwintetten traden in hun voetsporen. Calefax is anno nu een gevestigde waarde in de muziekwereld. De blijvende nieuwsgierigheid en de open presentatie maken onophoudelijk van elk optreden een frisse reis door stijlen, tijden en genres.

The Music Factory
The five men of Calefax work in a factory where very special binoculars are made. They do the same work every day, and they love it. Their movements are so perfectly coordinated and sound so good that it sounds like they’re making music. But when something goes wrong one day, panic sets in. Until the men discover they can make the most beautiful musical instruments from tubes. The Music Factory is born!
A humorous musical performance without words
For years, the reed quintet Calefax has been performing The Music Factory, the humorous family performance without words, with great success. It’s a cheerful performance based on the music of famous classical composers like Bach, Debussy, and Prokofiev. It’s about how you can create music from repetition and everyday objects around you.

As Calefax, they set the tone and conquered the world. More than 70 reed quintets followed in their footsteps. Calefax is now an established name in the music world.
